Lesson 13


A gerund (verb + ing) acts like a noun in a sentence.

  1. Seeing is believing.

  2. Running a marathon is not an easy thing to do.

  3. Watching TV is sometimes harmful.

  4. Eating is always fun.

  5. My hobby is painting.

  6. She loves babysitting her sister.

  7. I like listening to music.

  8. I wasted all my afternoon by taking a nap.

  9. I am afraid of singing a song on a stage. Often, a possessive noun or pronoun comes before a gerund.

  10. I hope that you don’t mind me using your pen.

  11. Don’t be mad about me leaving early.

  12. I don’t want you misunderstanding

  13. You will be amazed by my writing.
